Listening to the Wrong Message
I’m not a fan of the fake it ’til you make it mentality. I’ve been in companies that preach this approach. The phrase is a lazy approach for management. If you are somebody who is high on the fake-it-to-the-top joint that big companies pass around to their young talent and this puts a rupture in your foundation, GOOD. Fake it ’til you make it is, at worst, snake oil and, at best, misguided advice.
